In the Social and Behavioral Sciences career and academic pathway at Los Angeles City College, students have the opportunity to explore a wide range of fields, including psychology, sociology, and political science. These programs offer comprehensive coursework covering various aspects of human behavior, cognition, emotion, developmental psychology, abnormal psychology, and research methods. Eric Romero

Eric Romero

Eric Romero is a counselor with a diverse educational background and a passion for personal growth. He holds an AA in Liberal Arts from Cerritos Community College, a BA in Sociology from the University of California, Santa Cruz, and an MS in Counseling from California State University, Long Beach.

Outside of his professional life, Eric enjoys a variety of interests, including playing video games, exploring different cultures around the world, indulging in sushi, participating in sports like volleyball and pickleball, and immersing himself in the world of audiobooks and podcasts. Drawing from his own experiences, Eric encourages his students not to fear change and to take advantage of the resources on campus. He believes in setting high goals and actively engaging in the college experience to shape one’s future.

  • An Associate of Arts (AA) or Associate of Science (AS) degree provides knowledge and skills for employment or further study in a chosen field.
  • An Associate in Arts for Transfer (AA-T) or Associate in Science for Transfer (AS-T) degree is for students interested in transferring to schools within the California State University (CSU) system to earn a bachelor’s degree.
  • Certificate of Achievement (C) is approved by the state and prepares students to enter the workforce.
  • Skills Certificate (SC) is issued by the department and prepares students to enter the workforce.
  • Noncredit Certificate (CN) is for students who want to acquire employment, transition to college, and/or explore pathways leading to a career.
